Perspective

A photographer-friend of mine suggested we start taking photos of ourselves.  Just once a month.

I let my youngest bebe help with these photos – in the top portrait you can almost see the top of his head and his little hand holding the camera strap.  The second one is more of his perspective while we attempted this mama-bebe selfie photography session.  Then he helped me pick out which ones to share here on the blog.

As photographers (and Mamas) we often  have thousands of photos of other people.  When it comes to shots of ourselves?  It’s usually something I’ll do “later”.

You know how you see yourself in a recent photo and think you’re “not thin enough”, “not pretty enough”, “not (fill in the blank here) enough”…. and then years later you see those same photos and think “What in the world was I complaining about?”

At first I wasn’t going to use these pictures because – even though I’m a Lifestyle photographer (read: real life) – I thought they were a little too “raw” or “undone”.  Definitely not the type of photo I’d normally show around to people.  But if I’m not even honest with the way I am, I can’t preach it to others.

So here it is – my first installment of the “Get in the Picture” project.

There’s a bunch of other talented photographers in on this too – check out the next beautiful lady in the circle at Coco et Elie Photography.  Extra karma points if you leave a comments as you go through the circles, we love to know what you’re thinking!
