Besides booking your professional photo session with Appelman Images Photography, here are a few steps to help you prepare for your close-up.

1. Choose a suit/shirt/tie/sweater combo that flatters your skin tone.
   1. Great choices are Navy, White, Red, Emerald Green and Grey.
   2. Try your outfit on and make sure it’s in good repair and fits well.
   3. Have it ironed or pressed and ready to look great in your photos.
2. Have your hair cut and/or the color touched up a few days before your photo session.
   1. While a certain minimal level of editing is customary and included, your best results are achieved by starting with a great foundation to begin with.
3. If you wear make-up, practice wearing a little bit “extra”. 
   1. Photos can sometimes minimize and flatten out details. Tasteful makeup – including mascara, eye shadow/liner, powder, blush and lipstick can all enhance your look when done well.
   2. Tip: Lipstick looks great in photos, even if you don’t normally wear it. A little lip color is better than none, so if you really just can’t do lipstick, consider a gloss with a little color.
4. Drink your water!
   1. Hydration helps your skin to look more clear, supple and vibrant. It’s an easy step that helps you look your best every day.
5. Relax
