Today’s (emotional) Theme is Time – Naperville Lifestyle Photographer

I checked the theme-of-the-day on the Iheartfaces page just after I watched an educational broadcast where the teacher/photographer quoted a line (and she said to use this)

“You are someone that I love, and I want to capture you for all time.”

And it hit me square in the heart.

  Today’s theme is “Time”.

Last night my three-year-old excitedly told me that her Papa was going to put her to bed (instead of me).

I was happy at this new thing she was going to try.  Nearly every night of her little life I’ve put her to bed, and I sang her her ni-night song.  And tonight – tonight she was going to let her Daddy do this special thing for her.

I was proud of her for branching out, but my heart shook with a tiny pang of hurt as I intimately felt how quickly she was growing up and that one day – Soon – she would be all grown up and wouldn’t need me to put her to bed.  Or to sing her her ni-night song.

And so then I asked for a hug, and I held her and rocked her and inside my heart I cried and cried (only on the inside), for just a moment.  And then I put her down and she went up to get her Papa to take her to bed to go to sleep.

And then – she changed her mind.  She *is* three, after all.  They tend to do that.

Suddenly – and loudly – she started to cry.  So we quickly changed our plans for the night and I took her, once again, to put her to bed, and sing her her ni-night song.

And that brings me to now – where I’m thinking of this new quote I just learned.

“You are someone that I love, and I want to capture you for all time.”

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

So in honor of that, I’m just recording our day – the every day, any day, real life stuff.  The messy kitchen, the silly bebes, the wet doggie footprints.  The dark room for the bebe’s nap.

A few shots, here and there, just documenting.  Classic lifestyle photography.

Because THESE are the things that I love.  And I want to capture them for all time.
