A Style Evolution – Naperville, IL Appelman Images Photography

I’ve long enjoyed taking photos of real people.  Events of the day, the things that really happen.

The in-between moments if you will.  The way people really are, not just how they’re posed for a few seconds.

The kids with the messy faces and the shoes untied and the sideways glances.  These are the things that are real.

You can call this Lifestyle or Slice of Life or Documentary or Photojournalistic style.   Whatever you call it, it’s what inspires me and give me photography joy.

I’ve been chatting with, learning from and inspired by several wonderful photographers lately and happily think I’m finding my groove in this new version of Appelman Images Photography.  It’s more real, less posed, more dramatic.

It will be a little bit before the galleries are updated with new examples, but you can see some of the type of work I’m talking about in my iheartfaces.com March photo-a-day challenge blog posts.   (Some of them like the Springtime photos post, the Apple themed photography post, the Doorway photos entry, or the one with the day’s event photo series.)

I hope you enjoy this newer evolution of my work – I’d love for you to leave a note below to tell me what you think.
